Professor Teruo Maeda - Director of Setouchi Field Science Center, Japanese University of Hiroshima, pays a visit to Hung Vuong University

Between March 4th and March 8th 2017, Professor Teruo Maeda - Director of Setouchi Field Science Center, Graduate School of Biosphere Science, Japanese University of Hiroshima, visited Hung Vuong University (HVU) and attended a school scientific workshop. At the meeting, receiving him were Ph.D. Do Tung - HVU Vice President, Head of International Cooperation Department, leaders and lecturers from Faculty of Agro-Forestry-Aquaculture.

On March 6th 2017, Mr. Teruo Maeda attended a workshop entitled Lessons learned from the outbreak of foot-and-mouth disease in Vietnam and Japan that was held at HVU. At the workshop, he shared useful lessons drawn from the control and prevention of foot-and-mouth disease and bird flu in Japan. In the context of imminent threat of foot-and-mouth disease and bird flu in Vietnam that were being constantly warned by Department of Animal Health under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, such lessons were of highly scientific and practical value.

 

During his stay, Mr. Teruo Maeda spent time visiting some local historical relics, namely Hung King Temple, Hung Lo Communal House, Kim Duc Communal House; conducting surveys on multi-spurred chicken raisers in Tan Son district, Phu Tho and participating in HVU’s Anniversary of International Women's Day.
