Practical Study - Activities to Help Officials from Luang Nam Tha Province Enhance Their Understanding of Vietnam

Based on the training plan for the 2023-2024 academic year, Hung Vuong University organized a study trip for officials from Luang Nam Tha Province, LPDR, who are studying Vietnamese at the university. The trip took them to the Northern Delta and North Central Coast provinces of Vietnam.

The destinations included Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, and Nghe An provinces - areas known for their diverse natural geography, including plains, rivers, seas, and mountains. These provinces have climate characteristics relatively similar to those of Laos. During the visit, the delegation explored several sites, including the Kim Lien historical relic site (Uncle Ho's paternal hometown), Uncle Ho's Square and Monument, Cua Lo Beach, and the Cuong Temple historical and cultural relic site.

During the practical study days, the officials were placed in specific communication situations to enhance their Vietnamese language skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing). The trip was designed to help Lao officials consolidate the vocabulary they have learned and deepen their understanding of Vietnamese society, culture, and people through topics such as historical relics, Vietnamese customs, the economy, and tourism.

We hope this trip will strengthen the spirit of solidarity and mutual support among the officials and foster closer ties between Phu Tho and Luang Namtha provinces, as well as between Vietnam and Laos more broadly.
